In Japan, companies and stores give a roll of toilet paper to customers as a symbol of appreciation. Last year designer Kazuaki Kawahara of Latona Marketing wanted to create something that would “wow customers with its cute style.” He came up with the creation of tasty-looking fruit toilet paper rolls. This design has won the 2015 platinum Pentaward, a prestigious award for creative packaging worldwide, with five levels, from diamond, platinum, gold, silver, and bronze.
The fruit toilet paper can be purchased from the online store of Latona Marketing. There are four different designs available: kiwifruit, watermelon, strawberry and orange. What’s the price tag? 1,500 yen (US$20.36) for a set of four and 13,800 ($112.36) for a pack of 48.
