Paintings of Roberto Zavala

Roberto Zavala is a self-taught painter who studied architecture in Honduras, Central America. As an architect, he recreated master plans for colonial churches and designed business complexes, public spaces and private homes.

One evening in 2007, on the Atlantic coast of Honduras, after having finished the design plans for a building he had been working on, Zavala realized that he possessed no other thing except design. He had decided to become an artist, “after having designed buildings, now I design forms using paint as the medium. The principles are the same: form, function, balance, scale, rhythm.”

Then, in 2008 Zavala immigrated to the United States, where he is working as an artist and designer.
