Ontario’s Celebration Zone

Commissioned by the government of Ontario, Canada, the Celebration Zone highlights Ontario’s incredible diversity, culture and heritage during the Pan Am Games this July. The zone is accessible and free for the public. It showcases Ontario tourism, business, sport, culture, innovation and achievements through experiential programming including live entertainment featuring Ontario artists, a 400ft zipline, interactive exhibits, culinary demonstrations and tourism information.

The zone features two custom inflatable pavilions built by UK based Tectoniks working with Hariri Pontarini Architects, Thornton Tomasetti and Blackwell Structural Engineers. The large pavilion, which covers an area of over 10,000 square feet, and its smaller companion, covering an area of 3,000 square feet, are made up of more than 15,000 unique fabric panels. Despite their size, they were installed in just 2 days in the week running up to the start of the Games.

For information about this and other projects of Tectoniks, please visit its website.
