Astolat Dollhouse Castle, the Most Valuable Dollhouse in the World

The Astolat Dollhouse Castle was designed and built by famed Colorado miniaturist Elaine Diehl with help from experts and miniature artisans from around the globe. It was modeled and named after the Castle in Tennyson’s Lady of the Shallot and took more than thirteen years to originally complete. Since that time it has been updated and thousands of new furnishings and fixtures have been added.

According to a recent review, “ represents an important example of American art, both historically and aesthetically.” Nassau County Museum of Art curator, Paula Gilhooley has said, “Astolat is one of the finest miniature structures in the world…exhibiting a rare combination of sculpture, art, engineering and detail that set it apart from anything in existence today.”
